Velotech courses are nationally recognised awards that qualify you to work in the cycle industry, but they are also a great way to enhance your own knowledge and skills in cycle maintenance for personal use. The courses are run at our Training Centre in Clydebank, but we also operate as a mobile training unit and can run courses at customers' venues for a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 trainees. In addition to the course dates listed below we also run bespoke courses for groups at our Training Centre.
The Velotech courses range from training and assessment in basic bicycle maintenance-the Red, White, Blue and Bronze Awards; to the Silver, Gold and Platinum courses, which provide training and assessment in bicycle mechanics to Industry standard level. The Velotech courses are run by Donald Cameron, Velotech trainer for Glasgow and West Scotland.
During the course the candidates are shown how to perform each task, then led through the procedure, and finally have to carry out the task unaided to demonstrate that they understand the procedure and can carry it out in a safe and competent manner.
"The Velotech training provide a further dimension to our curriculum and enables our youngsters to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. The training not only offers practical cycle related practical skills but a range of life and transferable skills that can be utilised in life and work settings. The sense of achievement they get over the two days encourages them to engage and attempt other educational opportunities."
"The Velotech training with Cycleform improved my technique, showing me how to do things properly. I had picked up lots of bad habits over the years but the training cleared them up. Now I'm much quicker and more confident working on a bike. The training was relaxed but thorough. We were shown how to complete a task on the bike and why it might need done, then we would complete the task. If we had any issues or were struggling, Donald was always on hand to keep us right. I found the course rewarding, I couldn't recommend it enough."
"As a project we have been using Cycleform UK for our Velotech Training from 2015. Over this time the service that has been provided has been first class, and at times they have gone out of their way to accommodate our needs which is really appreciated. It is important that we have confidence that training delivered to our mechanics is both high quality and consistent, Cycleform UK provide both. Without exception everyone has complimented Donald’s training skills and style of delivery. We have benefited greatly from our association with Cycleform and appreciate the excellent service that Donald & Veronica provide."
